Willing to Choose?DSC_2880

When I sit quietly and listen, I can hear God whisper his plans for me.

But I feel I need to remind God, I’ve made my own plans for the day.

“God can you see my busy agenda?”

Some days I have so many plans and goals I don’t want to have my day interrupted.

Have you ever felt like that?

Do I choose my plans which are important and vital to my business and ministry?

Or choose God’s plan for me, stepping out in faith to trust Him.

Serving Him is to enjoy the great adventures He has planned for me,

and knowing I have obeyed his call gives me great happiness.

He is my peace and safe place, the one who loves and protects me.

Could I offer him anything less than my obedience choosing to follow Him?

Robin 4

I was born with a song to sing.

I think each of us have a song in our lives.

Sometimes I struggle to sing my song, feeling like it might not

be good enough to share.

Or I look at others and wish I could sing their song.

There have even been times I could not sing my song at all

because of great sadness.

Those are times I need another to wrap their wings of love

around me and hold me tight.

I was born to sing my song.

Like a small bird needing to fly and feel the wind lift me higher,

I know God has placed a special song in my heart that

I must sing to a hurting world… Jesus Loves You!

That is my SONG©

Can I Be Thankful?

thankful

Can I be thankful? When God does not answer prayers as I have hoped, and circumstances have left me broken and vulnerable, do I see the hand of God’s wisdom? When the people I love are hurting and going through unimaginable trials, can I still cry out to a God who says He loves me, and believe Him? Where can I find a thankful heart?

I always thought as I aged that somehow I would know all the answers to life. However the more I matured I realized I have more questions than answers. Surely I have learned something along the way, or have I forgotten?

The awareness of having a personal relationship with God has given me a great peace in my life. Through the highs and lows, disappointments and joys, sickness and deaths, I have found God a trustworthy and loyal friend. Holding me up, calming my heart, and giving me confidence to keep moving forward, even when I felt numb.

Some days I must confess that I would rather sit in a closet with a large bag on my head. But in those times He gently reminds me that He is the same today as He was yesterday. The same God, who calmed the storms on the Sea of Galilee and healed the sick so many years ago, lives today. He would die on a cross and then rise again to life a living God. He is the same God I rely on today who calms the storms of my life and gives me peace. He is everything I need.

Because I know the creator of life personally and trust Him, I can choose to be thankful even when I do not feel like it. I have a God who holds my life and my loved ones in His hands. I think He is better at handling the details of my life, don’t you agree?

When I look back on the life that I have been given, my family, friends and ministry, how can I not be thankful? I am blessed with God’s incredible protection, love, and forgiveness. Today, I choose you Lord, and I choose to be thankful because of who you are, not my circumstances. I love you Lord.©

  • Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand. Isaiah 41:10

What could God do for you?

If God could hang the stars on high, Can paint the clouds that drift by; Can send the sun across the sky. What could He do for you.

What are you Thankful for,  can you give me two things your Thankful for today?  I would love to hear from you.  Have a great  week!

I Need A Vacation Away From My Vacation!

Every year when summer arrives I tell myself that this is the summer I am going to take it easy, relax and take time to smell the roses. However, when the summer ends, I need a vacation away from my vacation. I have on occasion toyed with the idea of booking a room at the retirement lodge for a month to recuperate: there I could sit uninterrupted in my rocking chair singing,”Blessed Quietness.” When your life feels out of control, have you ever felt like running away?

My life has been a roller coaster for the last two month, and when my to-do list hits overflow, I become overwhelmed. At this point, I feel guilty and decide not to look at my list any more. (No, I’m not feeling better yet) Throwing the to-do list away now becomes a real option. I could start a new list, and forget how far behind I am.

The problem is, I often cannot face failure of rejection. I would rather not try than risk failure. I want to see the big picture and know success is certain. However, nothing in life has guarantees.  When financial prospects are bleak, job markets are uncertain, and health issues persist, it is easy to become overwhelmed with life.  Sometimes, I wish God would send me an e-mail, or memo, as a quick reminder that he is still in control. Why is it so easy to trust God for other people’s needs, but when it comes to our own needs we don’t have much faith?  Isn’t God enough to take care of all our needs, big and small?

Psalm 46:1-2  says,”God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. so we will not fear, even if earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea. He is my strength, and light in a troubled world, I will not fear?

Father, I choose your strength, love and promise, I will not fear as long as you walk with me lighting my way. I choose to trust you.
